Pleased To Meet You - Northbridge
I've been wanting to check this place out for some time now, and when birthday girl, Jennifer, planned to celebrate her twentieth here, it was the perfect excuse to bring along my camera.
Pleased To Meet You is not your typical restaurant; it encompasses a mess-hall-dining room experience with inspiration from Central and South American cuisine. It is tapas style, and sharing is recommended.
Jen's pretty much a regular so she knew exactly what she wanted to order.
Pullled Pork Slider ($8.00 each), Super light and fluffy Pork Crackers in the background with avocado dip ($8.00).
Chicken taco, corn salsa ($7.00 each).
Beef tongue ruben bao ($6.00 each).
After about 10 minutes of standing at the counter where the menu on the wall was, I decided to order just the pulled pork slider (which was absolutely delicious), and share a watermelon salad and fries with Soph.
Fries ($6.50)
Watermelon Salad, goats curd ($9.00)
Soph ordered the Steak; and for the cost and portions, the taste really didn't level up. It was quite dry, and definitely not filling.
BBQ Angus Steak ($23.00).
Bottom right: Roast Pork Ramen ($17.00).
Dessert was what I was looking forward to the most. How good does Ice Cream Nachos and S'mores sound?!
These were definitely made to be shared between multiple people, so don't expect to be ordering one dessert each or even between two like I did... Thank goodness Jen talked some sense into me!
The Ice Cream Nachos sounds amazing doesn't it? But really, it was just corn chips that substituted icing sugar over salt, with a generous dollop of soft serve ice-cream and mango salsa atop.
Ice-cream Nachos ($6.00).
The S'mores were presented differently to what I had expected. It was a deconstructed version of the traditional s'more (consisting of a roasted marshmallow and a layer of chocolate sandwiched between two pieces of graham cracker). This made it the perfect dessert to share between the 6 of us; picking away bits of the roasted marshmallow, chocolate mousse, caramel fudge and iced biscuit with our spoons.
S'mores ($8.00).
I recommend this place for a relaxed night out for drinks with friends; the music is on point, and the long thin tables designed for large groups or sharing between groups provides a very casual atmosphere. They have an extensive drinks menu as well which we sadly didn't get to try this time around.
